Dear Friends,
We are deeply grateful for the incredible support shown during our end-of-year fundraising campaign. Thanks to the generosity of three remarkable donors who collectively contributed an unprecedented $100,000 match, the Northeast Wisconsin Land Trust (NEWLT) raised over $122,000—our most successful campaign to date.
Your continued commitment has made a significant impact, enabling us to close three new conservation easements in 2024, protecting a total of 384 acres. In addition, in early January, NEWLT was awarded the National Coastal Wetland Conservation Grant we applied for through the DNR last year. This success puts us in a strong position to maintain our momentum into 2025.
Looking ahead, we are excited to share our priorities for the year:
- Complete four new conservation agreements while continuing to build our project pipeline.
- Launch a Preserve Steward Program to provide training and support for volunteers who assist with monitoring and managing our public preserves.
- Begin the development of plans for the Harness Farm property in Neenah.
- Complete a Strategic Plan Refresh to provide direction for the organization through 2030.
- Build on our Strategic Communications Plan with the addition of a comprehensive public relations strategy.
- Invest in training and development programs for our staff.
NEWLT staff and board members are committed to being strong stewards of your generous financial support. Through disciplined strategic planning, effective execution, and responsible fiscal management, we remain focused on making the most of every contribution.
Finally, we are thrilled to announce the launch of our new state-of-the-art website, made possible by the 25th Anniversary Campaign. This has been a year-and-a-half-long project, and we are excited to share it with you. For more information, see the related article on pages 4–5, and we encourage you to visit us at newlt.org. We would love to hear your thoughts!
With deep appreciation,
Anne Jones
