Adhering to the Highest Standards for Land Conservation and Nonprofit Management
The organization has been accredited by the land trust accreditation commission since August 2017. This important distinction, held by fewer than 20% of land trusts nationwide, independently confirms that the organization operates according to the highest standards in land conservation and nonprofit management. It assures that the organization fulfills its responsibility to conserve its land and easements in perpetuity.
We have been designated the highest ranking, a platinum seal, on Guidestar for transparency and completeness so that donors and other members of the public can learn about our organization through our financial statements, tax filings and plans.
“Confidence and a commitment to continual improvement have become part of our organizational culture. Accreditation has given us the confidence to take on large-scale projects where our partners and funders know that they are working with an organization that’s committed to doing things right. And our community as a whole has recognized accreditation as a mark of distinction. Instantly, people know that the land trust is truly dedicated to perpetual conservation. Enhancing our reputation in the community has brought in more resources and has helped to enable conservation projects that have really made an impact.”
