In 2017, NEWLT acquired the Bayshore Preserve: 1.96 acres of wetland just north of Oconto. This riparian zone was considered unbuildable due to frequent flooding, and its protection allows NEWLT to expand our work to protect the vulnerable west shore of Green Bay. This property is immediately adjacent to the Green Bay West Shore State Wildlife Area (Oconto Marsh Unit), further expanding the protected area and improving corridors for wildlife.

Bayshore Preserve is located north of Oconto along County Road Y, adjacent to Green Bay West Shore State Wildlife Area – Oconto Marsh Unit.
Please park along the side of the road when visiting this preserve.
This preserve is located between two private residences, so please be respectful of the property boundaries when visiting.
